The Approximate Mileage is any were from 200 or so miles to 300
or so miles all depending on what you want to see in your round trip. There's no set starting point and as always that's up
to the rider. The ride is filled with lots of wide open spaces plenty of back country to get lost in. While in Skowhegan visit
the the "Skowhegan History House" it'll set the mood and give you a real feel for the area as you travel up the Kennebec
Valley. Be sure to keep an eye out for the historic site markers as you ride along the Arnold Trail. While
in the West Forks you may want to take the time to stop for a short rafting adventure, there's nothing like a class IV
white water ride to invigorate you! You'll find lots of scenic turn outs along 201 as it passes along Wyman Lake or you
may want to check out Cold Stream Falls just below Lake Parlin. From Jackman down Rt. 15 to Greenville you'll find even more
in the way of wilderness until you hit the town of Rockwood with it's majestic views of Mount Kineo and your first glimmer
of Moosehead Lake. Being ever so watchful of Moose and Deer your next stop will be the ever so popular town of Greenville
with it's quaint shops and ever so popular restaurants! While you're there don't forget to check out the Steam Ship Katahdin,
one of the last of it's kind in the United States! As you head back through you'll find a ton of small villages and towns
along the way, all steeped in their own rich history.
As always the fun starts form the early in the riding season with
Moose Mania in the Moosehead region, to the Antique Power Show in Skowhegan as well as Wild West Day's in Dexter
and will last well into late summer with the International Seaplane Fly-In in September up in Greenville!
