I'm just an ole biker who's been around
long enough to know that if you ride long enough and hard enough you'll get a dose of "Road Rash" and, if you stand up
for what's right you may lose a few friends along the way as well! Being an Army Brat I do know is that the
saying is true, "What goes around Comes around!" So don't let them win!! The truth like our freedom is worth standing
up and fighting for!
Sometimes it seems that I've been riding dang
near forever, or at least ever since I was old enough to ride my first mini bike back in the early 60's.
Back in those early years it was hard
for me to hold on to a permit much less a license for any extended period
of time but, I tried about as hard as any young man could back in those days, especially one who thought he knew
it all.
Since then I've owned just about every brand
of motorcycle out there, everything from dirt bikes to street bikes, Honda's to Harley's and I
even owned an ole 750 punched and bored Chopper at one point back in the early seventies. I currently ride
a 1999 Victory V92C ! We all know that Harley’s have a rich history in the U.S. but, so do some of the many
other bikes we all choose to ride. Don't get me wrong I loved my Harley's but, it’s not about what you or I ride,
it’s all about being in the wind on two wheels, it's about freedom!! For the last twenty
years or so I've been involved
as a member and an officer Maine's Bikers Rights Organization. and, have since retired.
Back
in my younger years, I traveled courtesy of the United States Army, back and forth between the USA and Germany, as
well as up and down the East Coast of this Great Country of ours!
I came
to Maine for the first time in the summer of 1970 shortly after High School (Thought I'd try my hand in the
fishing industry) and settled here in the latter part of 1971. It didn't take long for me to figure out that the
saying was true....... "Maine, The Way Life Should Be! " and I've been here ever since. As the saying
goes, "If I had to explain
it to you, you just wouldn't understand." So I'll leave it at that!
